Which fertilizers cannot be mixed

Fertilizers from the farmyard should not be mixed with alkaline fertilizers such as wood ash, lime nitrogen, quicklime, or calcium magnesium phosphate. This is because human and animal urine contains a high amount of nitrogen, and when mixed with strong alkaline materials, it can neutralize the nitrogen, making it ineffective for plant use. Similarly, superphosphate should not be combined with alkaline substances like wood ash or lime nitrogen, as this can reduce the availability of phosphorus to plants. Insoluble phosphate fertilizers, such as rock phosphate or bone meal, also should not be mixed with alkaline materials. Doing so makes these fertilizers even less soluble, preventing crops from absorbing them effectively. Alkaline fertilizers like calcium magnesium phosphate should not be mixed with ammonium-based nitrogen fertilizers. When combined, they can increase ammonia volatilization, which reduces the overall effectiveness of the fertilizer. Common ammonium nitrogen fertilizers include ammonium bicarbonate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, and ammonium chloride. Uncomposted farmyard manure should not be mixed with ammonium nitrate. Unripe manure needs to decompose before it can be used by plants. If mixed with ammonium nitrate, the nitrogen in the manure may be lost during decomposition, leading to reduced fertilizer efficiency. Therefore, it's best to apply them separately to avoid nutrient loss. Lastly, chemical fertilizers should not be mixed with bacterial fertilizers like rhizobia. Chemicals often have high corrosiveness, volatility, and moisture absorption properties, which can kill or inhibit the beneficial bacteria in biological fertilizers, rendering them ineffective. Always keep them separate to maintain their effectiveness.
