How to prevent heatstroke in open cage chicken coops

The high temperature environment can cause the hindered body heat dissipation, the loss of appetite, and the decrease of egg production, which can lead to severe heat stroke and even death. Therefore, keeping laying hens in summer should be done to prevent heatstroke. In particular, laying hens in open chicken hens, because they are “trapped” in cages, can not choose the environment, but should also pay attention to prevent the impact of high temperatures.
Greenhouse around chicken coops: Perch sheds should be set up around the house, especially on the west and south sides of the house; turf and vegetables should be planted on the ground around the house to avoid bare ground. In addition, the top of the chicken house and the walls are painted white with white paint or lime milk to reduce the absorption of heat in the house.
Increase ventilation and ventilation: At high temperatures, open the doors at both ends of the open chicken house, so that air can flow along the long axis of the house. If conditions permit, additional high-speed fans or fans can be installed in the direction of the long axis of the house to discharge waste heat and harmful gases from the house. The air flow can not be directly blown to the chicken body, the entire house can not have a dead corner.
Cold water spray cooling:
(1) When the temperature in the house exceeds 30°C, the space in the house can be sprayed with a high-pressure sprayer after 12 o'clock noon. The finer the mist, the better. It is also possible to use a high-pressure, low-mist sprayer (flow rate 2 liters/hour) to directly spray the bird body every 2 hours.
(2) You can also set the curtain at the air inlet to reduce the air temperature before entering the house.
Scientific rearing: During the high temperature period, the intake of chickens is reduced. To prevent insufficient nutrient intake due to high temperature stress, the metabolic energy level in the diet should be appropriately reduced to increase the content of crude protein, minerals, and vitamins. Generally, the crude protein content is increased by 1 As for 22%, energy is reduced by 0.8 megajoule per kilogram, and the content of minerals and vitamins is appropriately increased. Concentrates can be changed in the early morning and evening when the temperature is low, try to feed early in the morning, extend the feeding time in the evening; from 10:00 to 4:00 pm fine feed, feeding only green feed.
Providing refreshing drinking water: Increasing the amount of water consumed by hens in the hot season is one of the measures to relieve heat stress. Ensure that each chicken drink enough cold water, the water temperature to 10 ~ 15 °C is appropriate, when the temperature is particularly high, you can add ice in drinking water. Do not cut off water.
Decreasing the stocking density: The appropriate reduction of stocking density in the summer is beneficial to the chicken's own heat dissipation. It is advisable to reduce the stocking density of open cage chickens by 20% than normal density.
Diligent chicken excrement: When the temperature is high, chicken manure will generate heat and produce a large amount of harmful gases such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. Diligent chicken manure can provide a good growth and egg production environment for chickens, and it can also reduce the temperature.

Royal Jelly is also called Bee Milk. The fresh royal jelly is slightly ropy milk paste  substance; it is the excretive mixture of nutrition gland and maxilla gland of the head of little worker bee. The worker bees use this to feed the 1-3 days` worker bee larva and drone larva, 1-5.5 days` queen bee larva and queen bee in the oviposition period. The royal jelly is the biologic product containing very complicated active elements which contains almost all the nutrition elements required by the growth of the human body.
