Loach high density breeding test

Nylon is encased in a nylon net that sits 30 cm above the water surface. The net is tightly secured with wire and buried 20 cm into the soil at the pond's bottom to prevent escape and ensure stability. Before stocking loaches, Qingtang fertilizer is applied. Seven days prior to introducing the loaches, 75 kilograms of lime are spread dry across each acre of the pond to disinfect and prepare the environment. After seven days, clean fresh water is introduced into the pond. Once the water is clear, 75 kilograms of chicken manure per acre is added as a base fertilizer to promote plankton growth, which serves as natural feed for the loaches. The water clarity is maintained at approximately 20 cm, with a yellow-green color indicating optimal conditions. Seedlings are introduced around mid-June, one month after preparation. A total of 1,500 kg of seedlings per acre is stocked. These seedlings are sourced from the market and vary in size, typically around 160 per kilogram. Feeding begins in late June and continues until early August. Daily feed amounts are set at 3-4% of the loach’s body weight, split into two feedings: once at 5 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. Depending on how much the loaches consume, an additional feeding may be given at 3 a.m. The first feeding is 2% of their body weight, while the second and third portions are 1% each. From late August to late September, feeding is reduced to 2% of body weight, twice daily. When temperatures drop below 15°C, the loaches are fed twice a day, with each portion being 0.5% of their body weight. Water quality is closely monitored. The water transparency should remain around 30 cm, with dissolved oxygen levels above 3.5 mg/L and a pH between 7.6 and 8.8. When the temperature rises to 33–37°C, water is changed between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. In spring and autumn, half of the water is replaced during each change. Water changes are performed every morning at 6 a.m. and again at 10 a.m. Every 20 days, 20 grams of quicklime pulp is added per cubic meter of water, and bleaching powder is used to disinfect the feeding area once every 15 days. Harvesting takes place before and after October. Loaches are caught using traps, with most being captured by hand during the water capture process. This ensures minimal stress and high-quality yields.
