Why beer bottles are rarely transparent

One of the important raw materials in beer is hops, which gives the beer a special bitter taste. The components of hops are light-sensitive, and they decompose under the effect of ultraviolet light in the sun, creating an unpleasant "sunny smell". Colored glass bottles can reduce this reaction to a certain extent. However, brown bottles are better than green. There are colorless and transparent bottles of beer on the market, and the hops added during production are treated.

Another reason is that one of the substances in beer is dry ice. Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide. After it is heated, it rapidly sublimates and decomposes into carbon dioxide gas. If it is a transparent bottle, the sun shines sufficiently and a large amount of heat will accumulate over time. This will cause a large amount of carbon dioxide gas to be generated in a short period of time. It is very likely that the beer bottle will not resist carbon dioxide due to its small volume. The resulting deformation caused the beer bottle to explode and cause an accident.
